As the summer boating season is drawing to a close over most of the country, we wanted to communicate a bit of information to potential Waveboat buyers.

First, as you may have seen from other pages on this site, it takes Sealver roughly 4 months to build a Waveboat and prep for shipping after we place the order.  Once completed, it takes another 2 months for it to be shipped from France to the U.S. and be released from customs.  That means it’s a whopping 6 months from order placement until we have possession of the boat, at which point we can begin to install any options the buyer desires.

Couple the above with the reality that we are not carrying, and can not carry, a large inventory of Waveboats.  As of this writing, we have only 3 in stock, ready for customization.  We won’t be placing another order with Sealver until those 3 are sold.

Where this becomes a problem is near the beginning of the Summer 2012 boating season.  We’ve had many people state they want to purchase a Waveboat for summer delivery in 2012…far more people than we have inventory from which to fill.  This might disappoint you or other potential buyers come April or May of next year if our inventory is sold out.  We want to communicate this in advance of the problem because we don’t want to be the bearer of bad news.  We want everyone to be able to experience the joy of owning a Waveboat next Summer.

The take-away from all of this is that if you want a Waveboat for Summer 2012, you’ll need to place an order with us before December 2011 for us to even have a chance of guaranteeing delivery by June 2012.  Orders require a 50% deposit up-front, with the remaining 50% due before final delivery from our shop to you.  Our sales contract is an extremely straight-forward, 2 page, large type document that simply outlines what we commit to delivering to you, how much you commit to paying for it, and stating the legal liabilities of the transaction.  We’d be happy to provide a copy for you if you want to look it over before deciding to purchase a Waveboat.

We’ve had a number of people ask us about financing.  The short answer is that we don’t provide financing directly, but there are many lending institutions that offer loans for watercraft.  You’re certainly welcome to obtain a loan from one of those institutions to cover the purchase price of the Waveboat.  We can provide any documentation necessary by your lender to help you receive that qualification.

Hopefully, if you’re a potential buyer, you’ll come across this information before it’s too late.  If you have any questions, please let us know by filling out our short contact form.

Happy Boating!
